Wal-Mart Announcing Pork-Free Zones In All California Stores Effective Immediately
San Bernandino, California    USA TODAY

Doug McMillon, President and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated issued a long awaited press release this morning to address the lawsuit that the California Attorney General filed against his company in Federal Court in May of 2015. The lawsuit has recieved backing from prominent civil rights groups including:  Black Lives Matter, The ACLU, CAIR, and PETA.  An excerpt of the lawsuit contends:

...and just as the Confedrate Flag is a symbol of hatred and diviseness that fuels anxiety in         minority communities, pork itself should be considered offensive to Muslims throughout the world as they make up roughly twenty-three percent of the population of the planet.  Placement of pork and pork related items in the world's largest retailer have no merit except to incite anger and violence within the Muslim world.

The lawsuit goes on to address fiduciary greivances against Wal-Mart should it not heed the warning of the nation's secong largest court.

Wal-Mart Announces It Will Pull Pork Items From All California Stores

Friday April 1, 2016

San Bernandino California

Effective immediately Wal-Mart Inc. will eliminate pork and pork related items from all California Wal-Mart Supercenters and retail stores.  In a gesture of the inclusiveness and American ideals that our company operates under, we felt it was no longer necessary to discriminte and humiliate a certain group of people that are very loyal to our brand.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause some of our other customers.

Mr. McMillon's press release surprised critics and brought the ire of numerous Republican Senators.  Franklin Chilton of the conservative leaning, Judicial Watch warned against the "slippery slope" idea that what starts in California eventually gets picked up by the federal government and forced upon the states.  "I think it will serve as precedent for this out of control federal tyranny to impose it upon the other forty-nine states", he said in an exclusive interview with USA TODAY.  Meanwhile, Lindsey Graham, Senior Senator from South Carolina threatened to place a ban on all produce coming from California into his state.  Graham stated, "Pork is the number two agricultural commodity in the state of South Carolina.  This is a dangerous road to go down."   A spokeman for Van Camp's, the nation's largest retailer of Pork and Beans said that it will eliminate all the pork from its products and just sell Beans.  v
